Ronald McDonald’s House Charities is a nonprofit organization independent of McDonald’s Indonesia. RMHC was established as an independent foundation last November 2010. RMHC focuses on children’s health issues in Indonesia and is a part of McDonald’s worldwide concern to people around the world.
Based with a mission that we all share the responsibility towards a child’s well being, RMHC believes that to improve their quality of life means improving the family which in the end would also improve society and the world.
However, on a smaller scale, RMHC seeks to create access and opportunities, to seek and support a program that would directly improve children’s health and welfare in critical areas.
RMHC’s first donation from HAVI Logistics will be used for the procurement of respiratory devices/ children respiratory support, such as nebulizers and others for children who are victims of the Mount Merapi eruption in Yogyakarta.
Symbolically, HAVI Logistics’ donation was submitted on 3 January 2011 to mark Ronald McDonald’s House Charities long term plan that will be launched this upcoming February 2011.
Rini T. Wardani, representing RMHC, said, “This is the core of all the acts of charity that has been conducted by McDonald’s with its consumers. We are waiting for the right moment where all of our internal divisions are ready to take on this very large responsibility and it’s not a simple quick ceremonial event. Ronald McDonald’s House Charities has opened a new chapter in the emotional bond with our customers and brand that is expected to provide benefits to children and everyone else that are involved.”
Besides coming from the “Helping Hand” customer’s donation box located in all McDonald’s outlets, RMHC also receives donation from companies and foundations that share the same concern to children’s health. Further information can be obtained by contacting Ms. Rini T. Wardhani.
